Our calculators give estimates for educational, personal and awareness purposes. The main calculator covers home energy and travel only, and uses the named sources listed on our methodology page: the US EPA 2025 Emission Factors Hub, EPA eGRID 2023, and Scarborough et al. (2023) for optional diet context. Your real emissions depend on your local grid, fuels and habits. Results are general guidance, not a certified or audited greenhouse gas inventory.

Students, teachers, researchers, and non-profits are 100% free to use, share, and link to our web application for non-commercial educational projects. Just give credit to Climate Calculator with a link to our homepage.
